Kait has been playing guitar and writing songs since the summer of 2001 after finding her mom's Alvarez in the hallway closet.  By the end of the day she taught herself the theme song to The Godfather, which made her Italian grandmother very proud.To date, Kait has recorded seven full length solo-albums in various basements and attics of friends and family members from Indianapolis to Seattle, Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids.In Spring of '13 she recorded a 9 song demo with Ian Gorman at La Luna Studio and released THE OTHER SIDE, her first full-length record with a backing band, in May, 2015.Kait released Coalesce, a four song solo ep in May, '17.In 2018, The Kaitlin Rose Band recorded “Live Enough,” a live, in-studio audience at Overneath Creative Collective in Kalamazoo, released in 2019. Mixed & mastered by Ian Gorman at La Luna Recording & Sound in Kalamazoo, MI.In the winter months of 2020, Kaitlin and The Band of Thorns recorded “Everything We Need,” a Holiday album, from their homes.Her most recent release (2022) is “Balance,” produced by and featuring David Vandervelde, with Elijah Thomson on bass. Recorded at Local Legend Recording in Grand Rapids, MI with Josh Kaufman, Balance was nominated for Album of the Year at the WYCE Jammies.
